Speaker: Professor Alberto Basaguren, Clare Hall and the University of the Basque Country
Location: G11, Faculty of Law

Both Catalonia and Scotland have had recent debates and experiences on referenda leading towards independence. Although there are shared experiences, there are significant attempts at the moment to differentiate the two. In part, this is to position Scotland for post-Brexit relationships with the EU. But the views of Madrid on Catalonia shape its reactions to the possible future of Scotland and the EU.

Faculty Members and Visitors, PhD students and LLM Public Law students are welcome.
